What we offer at Nourish

There are many avaliable services for individuals or groups offered through Nourish Ayurveda. To learn more, please click on each box.

  • Learn to cook healing vegetarian food from a master Ayurvedic Chef — from beginners who don’t know anything to experts seeking to learn new techniques.

  • Depending on his schedule, Prakash can be engaged to cook fresh, healing food, designed for your personal health challenges, every day. He can cook at his house or yours. Picked up in Costa Mesa or delivered.

  • Prakash will come to your house and personally make you whatever food you like, in whatever quantities you need.

He will also shop for the food needed.

The first session includes a consultation to find out what foods you/your family/your group would like.

  • Consultations with Prakash are about an hour. You will learn your dosha, and he will help you see and discover where you, with your unique set of attributes and circumstances, could start to change food and/or habits to improve physically, personally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Ongoing coaching sessions, often done in conjunction with personal cooking services or cooking classes, will support your wellness journey.

  • Prakash loves to cook for special events, like yoga trainings/retreats, family gatherings or weddings.

  • Prakash will cook Kitchari and herbal tea, made specifically for your needs, every day. You can pick it up from his house in Costa Mesa, or have it Ubered to you anywhere.

You will also have a 15-30 minute consultation each day, as he monitors your changes, and helps guide you through your experiences.

Regular cleanses are usually 10 days, but can be as long as necessary, depending on your condition. 40 days or longer is quite normal in many situations.

A New Way…

A New Perspective

While most of us do believe the old saying that food is medicine, few really try to live by it, and even fewer, especially in the West, would know what truly healing food even looks like or which foods are appropriate for them individually. Even our doctors do not usually know much about food or its powers, and rarely has anyone ever gotten food or actual nourishment, of any kind, from a doctor.

Ayurveda — No one size that fits all.

‘Normal,’ or ‘balanced’ as Ayurveda would describe, must be evaluated individually, because every human constitution manifests its own particular and spontaneous temperament and functioning. What each of us needs depends on our particular physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual temperament, our environment, our activities, our habits, our stresses, our relationships, and our unique situations in life.

Finding the practices, food, or medicines that balance us can only be done with full acknowledgment of our unique selves. The Ayurvedic framework for recognizing, diagnosing, and treating individual imbalances and diseases has no equivalent in Western medicine — which is, of course, why modern medicine’s attempts to find one-size-fits-all remedies continue to fail so many people.

A healer that can cooks for you and teaches you to cook.

Prakash has spent decades healing thousands of people simply with food and right living. Most of us in the West, having been conceived and raised, and now living on a low quality, ‘tamasic’ diet, have no conception of the full effects of our diet on our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual states. As Prakash often describes, “The simple reality is that no medicine or herbs or drugs or ‘superfoods,’ natural or unnatural, will ultimately make much lasting positive difference if we continue to eat poorly and engage in harmful habits. Change — real change — usually starts with finding and changing what we are already doing that isn’t working for us, not drugs or surgery.”
